Burbank, CA: get some dimples

You're probably thinking "is he passing a stone or what?". The answer is yes. An emphatic yes. However, its not a gallstone. And its not a kidney stone. Its a karaoke stone. Welcome to Dimples Karaoke Bar and Restaurant in Burbank, CA. A stone's throw from Warner Bros. and NBC studios, you're fairly likely to catch some drunken celebrity covering John Denver or Britney Spears at any given moment. If and when you get the courage, mosey on over for a night of laughter, embarrassment, and a free DVD to commemorate it all.

Highway 46: Harmony, CA

Even when the weather report has "nasty" written all over it, California manages to scrounge this out from under the couch cushions. Not quite the cold french fry you were hoping for huh? If and when you get a chance, head east along Highway 46 after a weekend of wine tasting in Paso Robles and twenty-five well spent minutes later you'll run into God's smile.

Yosemite Valley: When You want to Run Away

I know. I know. This picture's been done before. My answer to that? Life has been done before my friend. History has been repeating itself for centuries. If and when you go here, you'll understand that people keep trying to photograph something that's just too beautiful to trap in a lens. For what its worth, the iPhone humbly presents his own version of the glorious creation known as Yosemite Valley.

Highway 1

If and when you head south from Big Sur, CA you'll drive some of the most beautiful coastline known to man. I did, and thank goodness because otherwise I might have been sent into depression by the realization that my Starbucks was drips from empty and colder than a winter bottom.

Best Place on Earth?

Ever been to Detroit? Well this isn't it. What you're looking at is a view from the fairly upscale restaurant Nepenthe. Its located in Big Sur, CA. If and when you go, you may never come back. Giant Redwoods, vast beautiful sunsets, waterfall laden beaches, all mixed with a rustic, real world vibe. If you want to figure out who you are or what life is all about far from crowds, this is the answer. What does that mean, you might ask...I have no idea. But trust me.
